How come everyone has to pick on someone else just because they have a different type of style ?

I'm in my high school's drama cl and I almost always take on roles on females on all the school plays because It's actually pretty fun to dress up and play a female role. I'm a 17 year old straight guy and I happen to be really skinny enough to fit in teenage girl's clothing. I also have a girlfriend and she is OK with me playing these roles because she is also in drama cl too. My clmates in Drama gave me the nickname Candice because my real name is Kenneth and I play female roles, So my online name is also Candice. There has been a lot of people dissing me and throwing stuff at me in the hallway during Drama cl when I step out to my car and get a few stuffs like scripts and my agenda book. During Drama cles we often dress up in our character's outfit and once I dressed up as a girl in a black T-Shirt with a White Mini Skirt and I wore skin colored opaque tights to cover my leg hair with a pair of 5 1/2 inch Black Stiletto Sandals and Makeup and A Wig for rehearsal and I got aulted in the hallway and dragged into the bathroom by 4 guys. Those guys then pinned me against the bathroom wall and rubbed their front area onto the back of my skirt and my . I was discovered in the bathroom by my close friend and the school rushed me to the Emergency Room via Ambulance. Luckily, they were able to trace back to who were the guys by a surveillance tape and some evidence left on my skirt. My girlfriend has been very cooperative and faithful with me and she stayed by my side. I got discharged after 2 days tonight and now I fear for my life and even though I want to continue playing roles in drama I'm afraid to. The school has given me 4 days off this week starting today to help me redeem myself while they investigate. When the Investigator called me it turns out that those guys were Bi-ual and they were turned on by my character's clothing I was wearing. We were practicing for a skit that we spoofed High School Musical. How come people has to pick on and assault me because I can play different roles ??? Do you think those guys were trying to me ??? How could I overcome this fear ???
